So that's Why...

The last time, when he was in the other centre, we used to asked him "What did teacher say (about you)?", his reply will be "HMmmm!" with an angry face ..... ever since he started with this new centre, its different now!

No wonder he likes to go to school!

Birthday...

So how did I celebrate my birthday yesterday?? Candle light dinner with hubby?? or surrounded by all the loved ones?? Sad to say, none of the above.....I'm all alone in Thailand to complete an overseas assignment....and so how did I pampered myself on this special day?

After completing the task, went for a super late lunch or maybe I should say early dinner(alone)... got no idea what to eat, wonder around the shopping centre and finally decided to indulge in Japanese buffet to celebrate my birthday by myself...

After that, with still some free time to kill, went to catch a movie. Think the movies shown here are a little later than Singapore, so I guessed most of you have watch "Batman, the dark knight" by now.

Read on the papers that this movie had passed the US300million marks and is currently on the top-chart. But I find the movie okay only....... The main character, Christian Bale is handsome but sad to say, I couldn't find any Batman's macho in him. However, the moves to rescue Harvey did surprised me...I would have thought Batman would go rescued his loved (Rachel).

Once back at the hotel, got a call from all my dearest people..my 2 girls and hb..all sending their well wishes from Singapore to Thailand! My Charmaine even sang me a birthday song over the phone!

Do I sound like I'm complaining?? Hmmm......can't blame me, can you?

I Love...????

Ever since he started "talking", mommy (that's me) couldn't wait to hear my darling saying the word "I LOVE MOMMY"....so have been constantly repeating this words to him for the past months.

He have no problem with the word "I" and "mommy" but just couldn't say the word "love". Each time I ask him to "repeat"after me, he will goes like this:

Me: Say "I"

Nicholas: I

Me: love

Nicholas: (paused)....Mommy!

Then, out of the blue one Sunday, he managed to say the word "LOVE"! Mommy jumped for joy and gave baby a big hug and kiss. Then get him to do a retake so I can capture this unforgettable moment but....guess what or who he said he loves!!! : (

Silly Old Man

After daddy finished his dinner, he helped to carry little Nicholas as he kept wanting to climb up and sit on my lap..I'm still eating my dinner...then suddenly, daddy said in a very loud voice "Oh SHIT!" Thought what happen and rushed to see what is it about.

Only to find Daddy holding his little boy's feet and pointing to his toe (the one next to his big toe). He said that its only normal for the second toe to be longer for balancing purpose. But I told him that's not the case. Showed him the 2 girls and mine and told him, he is the only odd one with the second toe longer than the big toe.

He took a look at ours and than more like talking to himself than us, "OMG!! You are scared of your wife next time!!" and started to pull the poor boy's second toe!

Think all the balancing theory are rubbish...he is more worried that his dear son listen to wife and don't want him when he grew up! :
What a silly old man!

Another Bento for Daddy

Japanese beancurd with rice & fish roe toppling;
Soba & Hello Kitty Fish cake; Apples

When daddy open up his bento today in the office, he couldn't help not showing it to his colleague. Told everyone that I woke up in those ungodly hours to make this for him and Rachel.

Actually, I'm quite surprise that he did not complain about today's bento since it filled with carbo (rice fillings and soba) but guessed the generous amount of Fish Roe did the trick. Added some broccoli too so that at least there are some veggie and the apples are the leftover from shaping into Hello Kitty shape for Rachel.

Topped it all off with the Hello Kitty Fish Cake...Thought it doesn't look very man for him but without them, look so plain.

Incapability and Attitude Problem

Haven't taken a SBS bus for months and today, in just ONE day, I experienced first hand the incapability and service of 2 SBS's driver.

I was on the bus seated comfortably when suddenly the bus JAMMED its brake and the next I heard is "Bang!". The bus I was on had slammed into a lorry, who jammed its brake because of a stupid taxi who cut across to let his passenger alight!

The taxi-driver drove off after checking that his car was alright as the lorry brake just in time to avoid a 3 vehicle collision.

But back on the bus, almost everyone fell off their seat (the seat was those facing each other) and even for a fat woman like me, I glided 3 seats down, luckily, I did not fall off my seat.. (guessed having a heavy bum help) and when we had picked ourselves up from the shocking fall, someone at the rear of the bus called out to the captain telling him that there is an injured person there and requested him to come and take a look/help. The captain grumbled to himself how "suay" he was as he walked toward the injured person. To all the passenger surprise, he just stood there, look and walk back to his seat to communicate with the HQ (I suppose). Every passengers gathers and try to help the poor old lady who was bleeding profusely from her nose. Everyone asked the bus captain to attend to the injured lady first but he just kept on talking to the HQ! Duh

I was seated at the front and so hunted around the bus and found the first aid box, passed it to another gentleman who was attending the lady to try stop the bleeding... (I'm afraid of blood) but the blood just kept flowing...so tissues were collected and handed to the man. Some called the ambulance and some called the police...and all this while, the captain just sat there grumbling and talking to HQ!!!

When the ambulance finally came, credit goes to them for the super fast "service", all of us got down to wait for the another bus to pick us up. The same bus service came and when we try to flag it down (we are a distant away from nearest bus-stop), he just waved and signalling us to go to the bus-stop! Can't he see something was wrong? Wasn't he supposed to help ferry the passenger? And "our" bus captain was no where at sight to help the stranded passengers to stop the bus for us to board...he was so busy talking to the lorry driver at that point, exchanging particulars and so forth!

Everyone was so mad at how this captain handle the whole situation....where are the priorities? Shouldn't the first thing to do as a bus captain when in such situation, take care of the injured first? When the ambulance comes, shouldn't he help his passenger get onto the "replaced" bus??? Only after all this was done then do all the exchanging of particulars??

So in the end, all of us gave up and walked all the way to the nearest bus-stop...Is this the kind of service our SBS provide?? Ain't the bus captain being trained to handle such situation?

Bento For Hubby & Me Too

Lately, hubby and I had been skipping lunch very often, not because we are on any diet routine but solely because both of us are too lazy to walk/ drive out to buy our lunch. We only eat if any of our colleague volunteer to buy for us, otherwise, we just give it a miss.

And most of the time, by late afternoon, our tummy would start to protest..so embarrassing.Blushy So decided that since I'm preparing bento for my girl, might as well prepare a little more for us to eat during lunch.

So what's for lunch today? Fried pork roll with cheese fillings + animal pasta with capsicum and beef.

This is for hubby.

This is for me

See that cheese flowing out?? drooling already??

Charmer ; P

Remember the girl I was talking about that my boy followed her around? In the beginning, the girl was a little agitated at being stalked at but with my boy cuteness and charm, how to be angry with him!! (thick skin again)

See how he tried to follow the girl everywhere and imitates what she does...

What So Scary About Grass?!

Posted yesterday on how he dislike stepping on the grass patch at Vivocity, finally got the video done up.

What happen was he accidentally threw the his jiejie's hairband onto the grass patch and wanted to retrieve it without stepping on the prickly grass...

So what did he do?

First, He asked for help but both my maid and I happily refused;

Then, he tried to walk around to see how he can get it back without stepping in the grass;

Then, did the most silly thing, he tried blowing it...so silly!

Finally, carried him up the the grass, see how he quickly snatch the hairband and dashed out of the prickly grass!

Vivocity

Went to check out Vivocity on Saturday.

Its our second time there. The first was when it just opened. Back then, it was so crowded! The line of cars leading to the car park was all the way back to Telok Blangah!! Can you imagine that?! It gave me sort of a phobia to visit that place again. And that's why even if it so near our place, I didn't bother to go.

Today, since we got to fetch daddy to Harbourfront, thought might as well we give this giant building a revisit.

Got there and was so happy to see that there was no queue at all. There were also amber parking lots..Yipee! Once we stepped into the building, OMG! Its so big and happening! Thought we popped over to Daiso for some window shopping...but in the end, ended buying a lot of nonsense stuffs.

Then saw this big open space and my 2 girls asked if they could go over to play in the water..saw on some blogging mommies that their kids were splashing in there, so told them why not? I got extra clothes for them anyway. But little did I know that it is against the management rules! Only found out when we were about to leave..

Little Nic, unlike his 2 sisters, was not very keen to get into the water. He doesn't like the prickly grass and the sandy water....but the temptation of water proved to BIG for him. However, we still need to carry him from the grass patch to the water.

See his caution but happy look...he was tip-toeing for a while in the water before he finally get use to the sandy prickly feeling of it.

A little boy came to join in the fun and he even gave my boy a big hug! See how attractive my boy is? (thick skin hor?) *blush* Blushy

A flower for Mommy!

Then, its his turn to get attracted to a Japanese girl...followed this little jiejie every where and copied every things she does.

Be A Responsible Parent

Every now and then, my girl will come home and tell me how pitiful her friend was, how this friend was being scolded by the teacher or how badly this friend did for her work/test. Don't misunderstand, my girl was not teasing or laughing at her friend misery. In fact, she tried to help this friend whenever she finishes her works in School.

This friend of her, I shall name her J, and her 2 twin brothers (they are triplets) are not "intellectual" ready (I'm sorry to say that). According to my girl, the best marks J got for her mid-year exam was 2/100 and its the lowest in School. This had brought some disappointment to the teachers as this had somehow pulled down the aggregate score of the school ...and J never once completed her homework and will always get scolding from the teachers...Once the teacher got so upset with J that she made her stand outside the class!

I felt that as parents, we should know the strengths and limitations of our own kids and not try all ways to get them into a good school when we know they will be unable to catch up with the speed and our kids will become demoralise.

And if we did succeed in bringing them into the school of our choice when they are not at that level, shouldn't it be our responsibility to help our kids to "catch up" with the rest by at least revising the works and spelling list with them and help make sure that the homework is completed?

I'm don't spoon-fed my girls. But I don't throw something they couldn't handle at them without helping or guiding.

I'm not worried about the school's aggregates nor wearing a coloured lenses to look at J. And I know this is none of my business but I just felt so unhappy at the way J's parents handle the whole issue...

Happy! Happy! Happy!

BEWARE! This is gonna be quite a long post as its his whole week programme...

This week topic - "BLUE" .

He learns about Blue and did some sorting of blue and red (recapped of last week topic). Little Nic was able to sort these two colours out but the teacher needs to give one at a time for him to sort or else he would play with the bowl and throw the things everywhere. *faint*

Little boy enjoyed the running to blue game a lot and you can see him "laughing" from the pictures. Mommy was smiling too when I received the pictures from the teacher.
Running to Blue game..
Sorting Blue and Red

The centre did a blue telescope and let the kids explored the world in blue. Little Nic was amazed and happy to see the world in blue!

By Wednesday, he had enjoyed himself so much that he did not cry even when we dropped him off! Yes! Nicholas didn't cry at all, he just sat there eating his breakfast.
See that smile! Aiyo! So cute!

Since the all the boys in the centre are not for dirtying their hands, the teacher was kind & creative enough to get the little ones to spread the paint underneath the cling wrap. Ha, this way, my darling boy can enjoy the texture of the paint without dirty his hands.

And Friday is a water-play day and from the photos, one can tell he is having a whale of a time!

Hamster At Home..??

Think his "bad" habit is getting worst...he now stuffed and stored the food he liked in his mouth and after a while, spit it out and put a little back in again!

Isn't this typical of a hamster?! Stuffed the food inside the mouth and take it out again?? Electric

This is especially so when his jiejies are around...strange, since jiejie don't take his food...maybe Man's natural instinct.

"Relax" in the Pool

Went over to grandparent's house after church...as usual, daddy like to do the impromptu stuff...brought him to swim in his bathing suit...luckily, no one was there!

Daddy had been doing this "Relax" with him and now he knows what to do when daddy say "relax, relax."

Sorry...Just A Little More...

Sorry to bored you gals but just a little more peep into his school progress.

He still cries during the separation part but stopped soon after. See him cried until so poor thing here, the teacher brought him in and once we step out of the gate, teacher brought him out to put his shoe in the cubbyhole, he stopped!

I'm really very happy what the school is doing with him. It had encouraged him so much to try every little things he doesn't like..from eating strawberry (always complain say "sour") to dirtying himself - painting and flour play.

Giving a try at Strawberry! Why the outside and inside are different colours??!

Identifying fruits that are red...

Not going let my new found "girlfriend" be snatched away.

See that! He did apple stamping!

Beautiful Moments...

Send my boy to school with er jie today...Its her first time coming along and mommy was so touched to see her taking such great care of her little brother...

You see, Er jie is a rather rough girl unlike da jie, who is more gentle with little ones..so mommy was very surprised to see her taking care of him and holding didi's hand from the very moment we step out of our apartment all the way till we reached the centre.

As I walked behind them in the car park, emotional tears just welled up in my eyes....It suddenly reminds me of a very sad scene I watch on TV back in the 90's where this little boy name BinBin ran away from home with the sister...(forgot for what reason..I think its to look for their mommy)

When we got to the centre, dropped the little boy off and began to walk out of the centre. She saw didi crying and started questioning my cruelty...

My girl (almost in tears): Why is didi crying? Why are we not going back to sayang him?

Me: Didi cries because he does not want to be separated with us but he will stop once we are gone.

My girl: Are you sure? (Still in doubt about mommy's cruelty)

Me: Yes, darling. You saw didi happy face on the computer, right? He enjoys school just like you. Just give him some more time.

My girl: Was I like that? Did you let me cried this way too?

Me (oh no..how to answer!) : Yes..but you got adjusted very fast. Only 1 week and you stop crying already. See, now you even beg to go school!

My girl: hmmm...(finally satisfied with assurance)

More Updates on School Progress

Today, I shall let the teacher do the "blogging".

Nicholas only cried for 5 minutes today. Yay! 5 minutes better than yesterday. He is one of the kids that is sitting down nicely and listening to his teachers. Wow! Amazing. I thought he would be exploring around and playing but even when his friends ran off, he was still sitting down and listening. He's been trying to talk too. He was repeating the words that we taught him and showing us things.

Today we did Rose syrup drink. The children are getting familiar with red now as we've been learning about red the past few days. The children were amazed when the water turns red. They tasted the water before and after putting the syrup. They liked it very much and they even asked for more.

We did red hunting game too, where the children had to find things that are red in the treasure box.

Rose Syrup "experiment"

Outdoor play - Bowling!

Looking for the Red candle holder..

Found it! Well Done!

Are you thinking of jiejie??
