Day 4 - Paradise Country Farm

Our original plan was to visit the Paradise Country Farm in the morning (its a half day tour included in the package) and go shopping and beach in the afternoon. But, the coach that supposed to pick us FORGOT about us!!!!

So our day plan was messed! We called the local agency and they apologised and arranged another coach to pick us up for a later timing. So we went back to our apartment and rot till its time to leave.

Its a self guided tour and the operator at the farm gave us a map each and told us the timing for the show and location and its on our own to roam around the place which is not very big. As we were walking around, little Nic found some kangaroos and without a second thoughts, walked over and stroke them. Luckily, they are very friendly.

The kids were so excited at the sight of koalas and couldn't wait to touch and take pictures with them!

We have to pay AUD15.00 to take this picture and for the kids to stroke the koala.

Next, we hopped over the the nursery to see the baby animals but its a disappointment. Just a few calves, lamb, kids and pigs.. hubby commented that our Singapore Zoo or even our goat farm is better than this!

The highlight of the day is the Sheep Shearing Show and all the kids were totally engrossed watching the sheep thick wool being shave! Even little Nic watched with mouth open!

Then its followed by lunch and then the Billy Tea Show which its a waste of time. But little Nic enjoyed seeing the horse chasing the cow around.

Next is the sheep dog's chance to show off. As with most farm show, they had this boomerang and whip cracking stuff and a little cow milking session for the kids to try. Both the girls did well milking the cow.

By the time we are done and back to our apartment, its already closed to 5pm and hubby took the kids to beach while I do some laundry and ironing in the apartment.

Day 3 - Movie World

Entering into our day 3 and little Nic began to copy his 2 sisters posing for pictures. I like this pictures best. So cute! Oh, this photo was taken in front of our apartment while waiting for the bus to pick us up to Movie World.

The weather today was terrible!!! And its only 30 degree C but gosh, its scotching hot!!!

We got to the theme park just on time 10.30am. The coach told us that he will picked us up at 4pm and we all went "Why so early when the theme park closes at 5pm?" He told us that its more than enough time to play in there and we were in doubt but once we got in, we understood. There's not many rides and indeed, by 3pm+, we had completed everything and sat waiting for the Parade to start at 3.30pm.

Once in, the 2 girls couldn't wait any longer and pulled hubby to played the Batman Adventure Ride. They wanted to go for the Spaceshot too but apparently, they under below the minimum height and again, they grumble.

While waiting for the girls, little Nic met these 2 men Green Lantern and Flash. (Thanks Kole for the names)

The big baby gave a try at the Batwing Spaceshot while the kids watched. Little Nic loves to watch the Roller Coaster zooming past and he was so engrossed watching them.

And Superwoman or is it wonderwoman after the show?? Aiyo, mommy really urgently needs some refreshing course on this characters!

My boy's favourite! Scooby-Doo! Too bad, they didn't come down for the photo-shoot, only stayed up there.

Again, there's not many rides little Nic can play, only 4 rides in the entire theme park. But the girls had a great time playing from kiddy to thrill ones!

The only roller coaster the girls can ride in the them park is this Road Runner and thus, they make hubby goes with them for 6 rounds!! (1 adult to accompany 1 child, so each of them got to go 3 rounds while poor hubby had to go 6 rounds) He almost fainted!

Like I mentioned in the beginning, he now is getting used to posing for pictures. Look at him, copying what his 2 sisters are doing.

So while hubby accompanied the 2 girls for the other rides, little Nic and I hanged around the games stores and played and enjoyed the air-con.

I remember they used to have the Stunt Driver show but surprisingly, its was not available.

We were all waiting and ready for the coach to pick us up by 4pm.

A few things to take note:

1. Australia's school vacation starts from 16th December to end January. So avoid these dates if you don't want to queue a long time for rides.

2. Their summer is from Dec to Feb and the peak of it is mid December to end January. Temperature can range up to 45 degree C. I can't imagine that!!!

3. Wear light colour long sleeve loose clothing to protect from the HOT sun. Sun block is a MUST!

4. Their afternoon is cooler than the morning. Funny...

Day 2 - Sea World

Under our Free & Easy Package, we were given 2 "Worlds" and a farm. So I chose Sea World & Movie World.

The coach pick us up at 10am and we got to Sea World just in time at 10.30am. Took the map and started planning the route. Since there are only limited rides little Nicholas can take, and he needs to nap in the afternoon, we planned the morning over at the Sesame Street Beach. Even there, there's only 4-5 rides he can take.

Though its safe for me to take these kiddy rides, hubby insisted I take a sit to rest while he and the 2 girls accompanied him on all the rides. Plane rides are his favourite and he went 2 rounds on each of the rides!

The weather is HOT in the morning over here..funny..and after an hour or so under the hot sun, we escaped to take shelter and had an early lunch. The lunch (fast food) is expensive! 3 burgers and 2 drinks cost us AUD50+!! And the portion of fries BIG and since we couldn't finish it, the 3 little ones just "accidentally" drop the fries and comes the bird to feed on it.

After lunch, a last ride for him on the Carousel before the 2 girls headed off to take those thrill rides with hubby.

We were worried at first that there's nothing they can play except those kiddy rides, but surprisingly, they love the thrill rides! Too bad, they are just cm below 120cm and have to give a few nice ones a miss. They grumbled at that but resigned to fate and settled for those they can ride.

The Pirate Ship (Viking) is really scary..I remembered I used to screamed whenever I ride on it but my 2 brave girls just loves it so much that they made hubby goes with them for 2 more round!

They went for a few more other rides with hubby while mommy find shelter and rested my leg! They got back just as little Nicholas woke up and we took the cable car ride. Another favourite of little Nicholas.

The girls and hubby took a rest and watched the Sesame Street Beach Show before going off for more thrill rides. I took little Nicholas for a stroll and see the dolphins and Polar bears

The coach pick us up at 5pm and went back to our apartment for a quick "home-cooked" meal (pizza) by hubby. While he handle the kitchen, I showered the boy. Tonight, little Nicholas did not cry and look for my helper any more. He reminded himself what I told him last night that "cannot cry, cannot call aunty, aunty". When we hit the sack, he even chatted excitedly about what he did and seen today.

Gold Coast Holiday - Day 1

Finally the day we had been waiting for is HERE!!!

MIL was so worried that little boy will cry on the plane as this is his first time taking a plane. I had to assure her that he will be fine and thank God, he did so well! No crying during take off and landing; able to enjoy his kid's meal and slept well too. And so glad that he got a seat too so he is able to lie down and sleep during that 7 hours flight.

We touched down at 6.30am (Australia time..which is 4.30am Singapore time!) and little boy make no fuss at all waking up and walked by himself out of the plane! By the time we checked out and collected our luggage, its closed to 7.30am and the coach transfer was there waiting for us (and the rest). All of us slept on the journey to our apartment which is about 1 1/2 hour ride except for Rachel who is wide awake and filled with excitement!

Its quiet convenience to eatery and public bus to theme park is just outside the apartment. Beach is less than 5 mins walk.

By the time we settled down and unpacked our luggage, its already 10am+ and hubby told everyone to take a quick nap before leaving for our Extreme Sea Sport at noon. I so tired but little boy is not sleepy at all and wanted to play. Luckily, Rachel is not sleepy to and she helped to accompany her brother for that 2 hours so mommy can catch some sleep.

We took the public bus to Sea World and only to realise that the venue for our activities is located 800m away at the Sea World Resort! No bus in, no cab too. So we just had to walk all the way there. Luckily, the weather was good.

I had emailed and got ourselves a family package costing AUD550 for the 4 sports (Parasail; Jet Ski; Seaplane and Jetboat extreme). Its really worth it as each activity lasted for 30 minutes.

All of us went on the speed boat (have check that its safe for pregnant woman) and start off with Parasailling for hubby and the 2 girls. Little boy had fun riding on the speed boat and the 2 girls have a great time up there!

Next, the 2 girls take turn to ride on the Jet Ski with hubby while the little boy catch his beauty sleep.

Next they went for the Jetboat Extreme which the girls were truly thrilled! Not able to get any photos for that as mommy is enjoying her lunch at the cafe. The girls couldn't wait to tell me the fun and thrill of the ride especially when the boat did the 360 degree speed turn!

The boy woke up just in time for the Seaplane ride and all of us got up the plane to view the beautiful scenery.

Little Nicholas wanted to play at the pool but the water is freezing cold and we didn't want to risk him catching a cold and falling ill right at the start of the trip. Just let him kicked around the shallow water while the girls went for the slide.

And hubby slipped on the way up the slope as its full of moss...

Finished everything at about 5pm and we went for dinner at Broadbeach for a quick bite. Little Nicholas didn't like the food and was cranky by then too.

We hurried finished our food and went back to our apartment. Little Nicholas started to look for helper and luckily, he is still attached to me and I consoled him and told him that we are here on holiday and aunty is not here. Let him watch some car racing on TV and he soon ready to settle down to sleep. This was the only time he look for helper and the next few nights, he will tell me saying that "cannot look for aunty; cannot cry". Such a good boy!
