When Nicholas first showed signs of Terrible Two, I thought it was bad, but Ryan proves me wrong! This little rascal is worst! And there's no way of stopping him, he just won't listen.

This video was taken when we just got home from school. He refuses to come in no matter how I tried to bribe him and so I had to "forcefully" carried him in. He kept struggling and once I put him down, he dashes straight for the gate, which was already closed. He realised that he couldn't get out and started this tantrum of throwing himself onto the ground.

Good Friday Eve

21st April
The boys had no school today so mummy decided to bring them to the playground and pool.

Nicholas makes a very good brother taking great care of Ryan. He helped Ryan onto the "see saw" and holding his hands when going downhill. And when Ryan strayed away, he will run over and bring him back.

Both boys love the little cat and the cat is very friendly. It just lies there letting the 2 boys stroked it.

We had a fantastic bonding time today!

Nicholas' Plane

From just a "t" shape to represent a plane, Nicholas had progressed to form with the blocks more "complicated" looking ones like these....

See the 3 blocks that pointing upward, he saw the tail and the tip of the wing on the real plane and comes out with this model himself.

Then he remembered that there were engines on the wings and so he formed this. Al the red circles are the engines. And when asked why he places so many when there were supposed to be only 2 on each side, his answer was that this way, his plane can zoomed around super fast!

His Progress In School

Ryan @ 24<span class=

Ryan is now more cheerful in school and willing to bid us goodbye when we drop him off. He had build a good rapport with the teachers and they understood what he tried to say with gesturing.

His favorite part of the school is the Library corner. He will take a book and browse through it whenever its free play time and his able to turn the page one at a time using his finger tip.

During outdoor play, he likes standing at the gate watching the vehicles passes by and will shout in excitement "bus!" whenever he sees one! Water play is definitely one of his favorite activities. He is always looking forward to splash waters at his friends and teachers. At the same time, his physical dexterity and hand-eye coordination is improving.

He is able to carry out instruction given by the teachers too. When the teacher announces "It's clean up time!", he will quickly picks up the toys on the floor and put it back to their respective boxes and then, claps his hands in satisfaction.

He enjoys music and movement time too. When the music is on, Ryan will show off his skill in dancing!

He is an independent boy who is able to scoop his food and eats on his own during lunch time. He also knows how to place the plate into the bucket after he is done.

He is a very keen learner too. Whenever the teachers announces "It's lesson time!", he will quickly walk toward the mat and sit down. He then crosses his legs and folds his arm and nods his head when the teacher asked if he is ready.

When the teacher did some action during story time, he will always do it too.

Ryan is very attentive in his puzzle too and he has no problem doing all the puzzles (even the difficult ones) and when he completes the puzzle, he will smiled and clapped his hands!

Art and craft is another of his favorite activities and he doesn't mind getting his finger "dirty".

He is developing his social skill too. Sometimes, he will share the storybook with his friends and pointing to the animals as if they are trying to communicate with each other. They enjoy each other company while looking at the pictures. At times, they will giggle and nod their heads as if they shared common jokes.

Happy Birthday Ryan!!

No big celebration for the little one, the cake cutting was only attended by the residents of the house. Was Ryan bothered? Nope! His only concern is "when can I have my cake?!"

Even the cake was bought off the rack from Awfully Chocolate. This sinful cake costs me $50+! When we got home, then I realised that he had the same cake for his 1st birthday too!

The birthday boy couldn't wait for everyone to finish our dinner and kept going to the fridge. When finally his slow eating siblings finished their meals, he was eager to get a bite on the mouth watering cake. But it was not to be eaten right away... Not before a family photo and 3 birthday songs.....

and the cake cutting "ceremony"...

Oh! The packet of biscuit next to the cake was a birthday present from Charmaine. And Rachel got him this Mickey Mouse pyjamas.

Finally after being torture for so long... "能看不能吃", he finally got his big slice of cake! And look at his mouth!
This reminds me that he had the same messy mouth on his 1st birthday too!

Ryan @ 24 months

He knows where his 手、脚、眼睛、耳朵、鼻子、嘴巴

For colours, he is able to recognise and point out the primary colours. He is able to say the "blue", "purr" (purple) and "ed" (red)

On animals, he knows most of the common animals like cow, sheep, hippo, zebra....the only accurate words he can say is "bird" and "duck" but I know he is trying to say the others too.
For cow, he will go "moo moo".
For dog and cat, he will go down on all fours and goes "woof woof" or "meow meow"

Other words that he can managed now are: Dig, pour, this, there, door, star, bag, dark, two, toe, walk. (I especially like to see his little mouth when he says the word "two"...so cute!)

Words that needs further fine tuning are: tor (kor kor), my (mine), bas (bus), dart (cut), tee (key), ba ber (bubbles), ut(up), tar(car), bao (carry), ber (ball), yeah (yes)

Other aspect:
He's also a very, very neat and tidy boy and will always put things back to their rightful place. He is the only one (with no training required) to place his shoes neatly, side-by-side each other when he help him removed it. The other 3 older kids had to be reminded time and again to put their shoes properly after removing them!

Nicholas' Prayer

Nicholas loves hugging and kissing Ryan but whenever one of them is down, I forbid him from doing so. Its like a "punishment" to him not being able to do so.

And today, Ryan was down with fever and Nicholas suggested that we should pray for him. So we gather together around Ryan and Nicholas said this prayer...

"Father God, dear Jesus,
please help Ryan recover faster
so I can love him and hug him.
In Jesus's name, Amen."
