We brought him out on Monday and Tuesday to see his 2 jiejie's school performances and helper carried him in a sling throughout (She finds pram to troublesome). So my dear Prince Ryan got so used to being carried and refuses to be placed on the bed NOW! Whenever his buttock touches the bed, he would go crying!!! This happen even when his eyes were close!
So, I have no choice but to hug him and sleep together sometimes. This way, he can at least sleep 2 hours and I can have my rest too.
And when I'm not sleeping with him, I have to carry him till he is deep asleep and placed him down on the bed gently on his tummy. But I really don't like this position but seeing that he has good head control now, I just have to check on him every now and then to make sure he does not suffocate himself.
We have sarong at home (hand me down from Rachel) but I'm trying not to use it. Firstly, if the baby got "hook" to sleeping in sarong, then if we were to travel, we will be in trouble without one.
Secondly, I seen Rachel sleep facing downwards (nose pressed against the sarong). I'm afraid it might suffocate him if no one watches.
Thirdly, though no scientific proof, hubby worried that sleeping in sarong will cause one to hunch.
Ain't I glad his naughtiness only kicks in now than earlier (during the exam period). And Nicholas is down with high fever and vomits the whole of last night. He is extremely touchy, whining the whole time. But even how uncomfortable he felt, he still misses his baby brother, wanting to sayang and play with him. We have to explain to him that he is sick and he might pass the germs to baby again. He understood and kept away from him as long as his little brain can remember.
*gosh* Its tired handling these 2 "terror" now.. If this were to happen during the exam period, I doubt I will still have any hair left... hahaha...

oh... just like my daughter, I carried her to sleep even at night, most night till she about 5months. Then, I too sleep, coz if not the next day I will be a zombie at work!
Why dont' you get the 'yao-yao' with breathable cloth or like netting? Just a tot.
i think it is the xy chromosome. my boys are very clingy to me. my ezra, when he is not sleeping, he wants to be carried. if put down, will surely cry till face turns red n almost put of breath!
you know, since birth I have left my son to sleep on his crib. but now at age 2, i have to hug and carry and pat him to bed. bigger headache! cos he so heavy mah!
I also try not to use sarong for my boy coz afraid he will too attached with it like Chloe last time the bbsitter will hang her there most of the time she also will sleep like Rachel....but this time I tried my best not to give him sarong as well as bbsitter there too...I rather hug him to sleep
btw how is Nicholas now?
eh, michelle... try this. last time when #2 was a small small baby, she would keep rousing and crying and wanting to be held... so one night, out of sheer desperation, I took the t-shirt that I had been wearing all day (unwashed) and slipped it over a pillow and let her sleep with her head on it... you know... that night, she slept through the night, waking only at the proper times for milk... haha.
poor mommy...hang in there. ashley slept in a sarong from a few months to 3 years old...hahhaha. we got her a sarong with holes. at night, she'll sleep on the bed with me...so that way...she didn't rely solely on the sarong :) i used the sarong cos she'll sleep longer.
Do get as much rest as you can...i guess when having 4 children, 'rest' is a luxury!
Ryan slept in sarong until he was 2 yrs old. I was not keen on the idea actually but in-laws were for it. It did make my life easier as he slepts more easily and not so hot than on the matress.
His sleeping pose so cute!
Miche - think ours are quite alike! He will cry till his face turns red and totally gone "soundless"..so worried he can't breathe!
Serena - I did just that one day and he doze off just like that!! But I didn't put my T-shirt over the pillow, I use the pillow that i slept on and place him there :) So now, I'm using this trick during the day time :P
Michelle,
You sure walk fast! I saw you at the zoo today! Actually I recognized Rachel then then turned around and saw Nicholas (said hello to him) and baby Ryan in the sarong!
Tried to catch up to say hello but you disappeared into the carpark!
i carried R to sleep till she was 6m! then she slept on me till she was 3! and interesting observation from your hb. R hunches, due to sarong??
meekfreek - really!! can't wait to dash into the car to enjoy the air con! yesterday weather was TERRIBLY HOT!!!
kole - no. she doesn't..but Charmaine does a little. probably b'cos Charmaine slept in sarong early than Rachel.
oh...hope everything is over and all is well now...
It's ok for him to sleep tummy down but just need to monitor him more frequent. I don't agree with sarong too as accidents tends to happen when they sleep in sarong.
Last time Sarah also like Ryan, she will cry I put her sleep on the bed. So I am like you too, carried her and sleep together with her.
Oo...Rachel slept facing downwards in the cradle? How many mths was she?
How is Ryan and Nicholas now? Getting better?
Joanne - Rachel was about 4months when MIL placed her in sarong. She finds it easier to rock her to sleep than patting her.
They have recovered. Thanks for your concern.
*laugh*
no hair left???!!!!
*laugh*
go get wig lah....
nahhhh...joking...
you are a fantastic mom now, cos you have 4 now!!! fantastic 4 mah!
Ok, me and my cold joke....
seriously, I'm with you on the sarong thing... just make sure you check on the little prince every 15-20mins. I love my boys to sleep in that position, cos they feel extra secure with their chest down and they can sleep longer too (for my boys that is)
Angeline - love your jokes!! Glad I still have my hair after these few tiring weeks! Little prince is now better already. but mommy somehow misses sleeping with him this way now..hahaha
