His Belly Button
This is how his belly button look like. Funny? Its like mine when I'm pregnant. Its soft and can feel the "air" when I try to press it down. Wonder if its normal. Must remember to asked Paed during the next check up.
first time i see a protruding belly button in a baby. my mom always reminds me to press my baby's belly button everyday once the umbilical cord dropped so that it won't protrude. did u do that same? anyway, better ask your paed. i guess if it does not hurt him, it shud be ok right?
hope that helps. most websites say that in most infants, it will resolve itself... but if it doesn't and it's not causing problems, then surgery can wait until they are much older... like 7yo.
Miche - I didn't do that! But I didn't do it for the other 3 kids, so I doubt its got to do with that..
Mommy to Chumsy - Ashley too?
Serena - *muacks* you are so knowledgeable! Thanks for ther link, it does fit the bill. Now I'm panic..hope it will resolve itself and need no surgery.
Angeline - same here. I find it funny to look at at first but after reading those link that Serena send me, I'm begin to panic liao!
Oi... don't panic lah. Umbilical hernias are the "safest" hernias to have. I know about hernias because the eldest had a different kind of hernia too... and his was more dangerous. So he had to have surgery at 4.5mths to correct it lah.
Debbie Y - thanks for dropping by. First time for me too but apparaently, its quite normal according to the baby's book. Will check with Paed next week. :)

oh...that's a pretty big belly button. ashley's was smaller..thought it protruded.
is it an umbilical hernia? I don't think bellybuttons are supposed to protrude like that.
Here are some websites with pictures.....

Hi, thanks for visiting my blog.
This is something I've not seen before. Better to consult PD for advise. *hugs* :):)
